Log of the Schooner Polly, [transcript], 1812-1813.

Transcript of a logbook and journal for the schooner Polly, a privateer in the War of 1812, kept by Capt. Juduthan Upton, Jr. of Salem, Mass., Dec. 8 1812-July 9, 1813. Upton recorded the capture of the Polly, Dec. 23, 1813, by the frigate Phoebe, and his subsequent time aboard the British prison ship Hector, off the coast of Plymouth, England, and in Old Mill Prison, in Plymouth, England. Upton was exchanged for another prisoner and returned to Salem, Mass. on July 9, 1813. The transcript was prepared for publication, most likely, by the Historical Records Survey, 1937. Location of original is unknown.
